is a Chicago Public School on the southwest side of the city. Cuffe is a Track E, year-around school, where the learning never ends! We stress math, science and technology, as well as reading and writing. We have a gifted program and an instrumental music program. The Cuffe Academy staff is enthusiastic and excited about this and every school year. It is our hope that each and every year will be of great educational value for our students. If you are new to Cuffe, greetings. If you are one of the many fine families who have helped to make Cuffe one of the best schools in the city, welcome back.

My staff and I look forward to working toward our mutual enterprise — the education of our children. It has been said that good homes make good schools. In this respect, Cuffe is well served. It is this cooperation between home, school, and community that provides the formula for educational success.

We expect nothing less than the best from our teachers and from our pupils. Cuffe teachers perform their professional task of education with high levels of dedication and adherence to ethics, prescribed curriculum and successful methods of teaching. Teachers teach; pupils learn. Teachers cannot pour knowledge into a child’s mind. Teachers may show the way, help, motivate and instruct. Pupils must pay attention, work at assigned tasks, do homework, be serious about school and recognize the need for learning. The other half of teaching is learning. Encourage your child to complete his or her school work and homework. Send your child to school everyday with a positive attitude. Children love to learn. That is why they constantly ask questions, explore and experiment. Parents and teachers are partners in the job of educating our children in a very real way.
